Life- courage
Joshua 8:1-8
God wants you to have good courage. There is courage that is not good. But good courage tailored in God will make you to regroup, change plans, change direction, acquire knowledge, acquire skill and execute them courageously.
Joshua changed strategy and plan after the initial defeat by Ai. Joshua declined to withdraw, viewing the initial setback as an opportunity for growth rather than a conclusion. Joshua enquired from the Lord to search out the problem why they suffered to unlikely small Ai. When he got the answer he quickly put away the cause, changed strategy while abiding in the words of God not to fear . Not to be dismayed but to have good courage. To be dismayed is to be discouraged and to draw back.
With courage, you will arrange and organize your problems and be prepared to make a public show of them, then at the end you bury them as your courage continues un abated. If your courage breaks, it is possible the problem will regroup. In Joshuah 10:26 Joshua hung his problems on the tree. Courage will make you to hang your problems , battles on the tree; dead. God knows that adversity does not exclude any. It comes boldly and it requires courage to checkmate it. God forewarned Joshua on what he needs to do.
Your enemies are increased because of fear thereby exposing you to defeat by poverty, battles , opposition ,failure, weakness, rejection, trauma even sickness by accepting evil report, name it. In order to cast out fear in the hearts of his commanders Joshua brought the defeated kings and asked his commanders “ …..come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near and put their feet upon the necks of them “Joshua 10:24. In verse 25 Joshua says” thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom you fight”
You are the captain over your situation. You have power over your situation if you exercise courage. Its only when you give space to fear that adverse situation escalates You need to be the true captain in your situation. The defeated kings were the head of the problems. And to make public show of their defeat Joshua hung them on the tree.
The bible records that if you fail on the day of adversity , your strength is small. You lack courage backed by God . It took courage for Joshua to order the sun and the moon to remain still while he completed his conquest drive.
To put an end to emotional trauma, depression, failure , disappointment and so on: kill fear and pick up courage in the face of adversity.
